The Apollo International Forum at the New Tretyakovka Museum

On July 4, 2022 a meeting of the Apollo International Forum was held at the New Tretyakovka Museum.
The Apollo Forum was established by the State Tretyakov Gallery and the Bridge of Arts Cultural Project Development Support Foundation under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
The aim of the project is to create a permanent independent platform for a multi-format communication of the museum community leaders and cultural workers with representatives of business and authorities.
Integration of economy and culture is one of the most difficult topics for discussion, and the discussion at the New Tretyakovka was devoted to this very topic.
The discussion was attended by figures of culture and representatives of business community: Mikhail Shvydkoy, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for international cultural cooperation; Zelfira Ismailovna Tregulova, General Director of the State Tretyakov Gallery; Hans-Joachim Frey, art director of Sirius - Talent and Success Foundation; Victor Yampolsky, President of Bridge of Arts Foundation; Evgeny Grigoriev, Chairman of St. Petersburg Committee for External Relations; Dmitry Valeriev, Head of Russian Culture Foundation; and others.
The Apollo Forum session was devoted to the ways to support art in difficult conditions. The cancellation of international exhibitions, accelerated preparation of a new program, difficulties with logistics of returning exhibits from abroad - this is the main range of problems faced by Russian museums, which require additional efforts and funds.
"These kinds of sites are very important. They are important first of all because it is a meeting place for people of different countries, different professions. People who firmly understand that art is the most important tool that allows people to communicate with each other in a clearer, more active and effective way", - said Mikhail Shvydkoy, special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for international cultural cooperation.
After the Forum meeting on October 17, 2022 in Sheremetyevo Palace-Museum of Music it is planned to hold the Forum in the framework of the opening of the VI Tchaikovsky."; in November-December 2022 the Forum will be held in Kazan with the support of the President and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.
